Unknown Gunmen Abduct Ruler of Township in Ondo State

Unknown gunmen have reportedly abducted Princess Mojisola Omosowon, regent of Akungba Akoko township in Ondo state.

A palace source is said to have revealed the news to Sahara Reporters.

“The regent was kidnapped on her way to FUTA in Akure, where she was officially invited to attend the inaugural lecture of the university. The gunmen wore mask and ordered her to enter into a waiting vehicle. They shot into the air to scare away travelers on the road. The kidnap was well coordinated,” said the source.

Aggrieved youths in the town are said to be currently protesting the incident, and have blocked a major road leading to the town while singing solidarity songs and obstructing movement into the town. Policemen are said to be at the scene trying to manage the situation.
